Justin Castrati

Justin Castrati has a diverse background in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) roles, with experience in project management, development, coordination, research, and technician work. Justin is currently working as a GIS Project Manager at LJB Inc. since 2023. From 2021 to 2023, they worked as a GIS Developer II at Old Dominion Freight Line. Prior to that, they served as a GIS Coordinator at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools from 2017 to 2021, where they were responsible for directing GIS data creation, design, and maintenance, as well as implementing GIS applications. Justin also provided GIS research assistance as a Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from 2019 to 2020, focusing on trail planning implications. Justin's career in GIS began as a GIS Technician at the City of Raleigh Municipal Government, where they worked from 2012 to 2017, fulfilling GIS needs, providing technical support, and creating applications. Additionally, they were responsible for the street database inventory for the Transportation Department.

Justin Castrati earned a Master's degree in Geospatial Information Science and Technology from the NC State Center for Geospatial Analytics from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington between 2008 and 2011. Additionally, Justin obtained certification as a Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) from the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) in January 2021.
