About the Role:

We are seeking a Financial Accounting Manager with experience across financial accounting, reporting, and payroll management to join our team at Loam Bio. This role will see you responsible for maintaining Loam’s financial health, ensuring adherence to budgets and accountability for expenditures within the US market.

In this position, you will manage two direct reports while contributing to the financial reporting process, ensuring the quality and compliance of financial outputs, including adherence to statutory obligations and the timeliness of filings. You will also assist in performing financial analyses that align with the company's objectives.

Note: This role will also cover the United States, therefore US market experience is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Australian and US accounting function ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Provide payroll subject matter expertise to ensure compliance, accuracy and best practices are applied to the Australian and USA payroll function.
• Manage a small finance team of two direct reports
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Coordinate the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing all necessary documentation.
• Drive process improvements in financial reporting and develop and maintain internal controls.
• Manage the general ledger and perform account reconciliations.
• Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax reporting and filing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making and provide financial insights.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulation
• Ensure timely and accurate lodgement of statutory requirements.
