Technical Lead, Cyber Security And Technology Risk at Loblaw

Bright Egwuogu has a diverse range of work experience in the field of cybersecurity and technology risk. Bright started their career as a Network and Infrastructure Support Intern at eTranzact International PLC, where they were responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the company's network and endpoint infrastructure. Bright also assisted in setting up a BCP Disaster Recovery center and implemented PCIDSS-compliant standards and policies.

After completing their internship, Bright worked at Jobberman.com as a Product Performance and Data Analyst. Bright analyzed the performance of web products and services, compared them to competitors, and recommended solutions for improvement. Bright also served as a Product Manager, conducting QA and UI/UX requirement tests for new product and service deliveries.

Bright then joined Morgan Stanley as a Technology Analyst, first in the Security Administration team and later in the Enterprise Security Platforms team. In the latter role, they worked on various technologies and was awarded the best project team among over 20 teams in the North America region.

Next, Bright worked at Deloitte Canada as a Cyber Threat Intelligence and Risk Advisory Consultant for a brief period before joining RBC as a Senior Network Security Analyst. In this role, they focused on audit, compliance, and risk assessment of network security controls. Bright also optimized firewall policy management through automation.

Bright then joined Scotiabank as an Information Security Advisor, where they leveraged tools like IBM QRadar, Demisto, and McAfee ePO to respond promptly to cybersecurity threats and incidents. Bright conducted real-time monitoring, response, and reporting for tier 2/3 incident escalations and actively hunted for threats using other tools like Snypr, Trend Micro, and Illusive.

Currently, Bright is working at Loblaw Companies Limited as a Technical Lead for Cyber Security and Technology Risk. Bright'sresponsibilities include conducting solution risk assessments, third-party security assessments, and developing/improving cybersecurity standards and policies. Bright also provides security consulting and advisory services to various divisions and lines of business to increase security maturity levels across the enterprise.

Bright Egwuogu has a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Information Systems Security from Concordia University. Bright also has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Information and Communications Engineering from Covenant University. In addition to their formal education, Bright has obtained several certifications including Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Network Defender (CND), and completed a course on Computer Security Investigation and Response from Lynda.com.
