Michael Tang

Michael Tang is the SVP of Marketing & Communications at Local Initiatives Support. Prior to this, they served as a Financial Business Consultant at Solution Affinity from February 2020 to March 2021 and as Capital Markets Manager at Planet Home Lending, LLC from July 2017 to January 2020.

At Planet Home Lending, Michael managed a team of lock desk specialists and provided service coverage for over $300 million in monthly originated loan volume. Michael also distributed and presented loan pipeline volume and revenue, as well as provided competitive business color, to an executive audience on a weekly basis.

Under Michael's leadership, the team successfully managed a project, implementation, and testing of an offshore move of certain lock desk duties, demonstrating the scope and need, identifying what could be offshored, and recalibrating the local team, resulting in substantial cost reduction with push button scalability.

Michael is a skilled data analyst and was responsible for managing front facing rate sheets delivered to nationwide sellers and online audiences. Michael utilized vendor automation tools within the loan origination process that reduced the frequency of missed disclosures and pricing errors, recovering 2% of revenue previously lost to system inefficiencies. Michael also streamlined data consolidation and daily processes using Excel and VBA that reduced turnaround time of daily hedging reports from an hour to a few minutes.

Thanks to Michael's efforts, the turnaround time of monthly close packages and consolidated revenue reports was reduced from five business days to two by automating labor intensive
