Alvaro Farias Velasco is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in risk management and climate change, currently serving as the LACIS Head of Research – Risk Practices at Lockton since May 2024, focusing on parametric insurance structuring and catastrophe model research. Previously, Alvaro was the Director of Climate Change and Catastrophe Risk at PROSPERiA from March 2022 to May 2024 and served as Treasury and Risk Senior Specialist - Funding at the Inter-American Development Bank from August 2019 to March 2022.
