The role: Our fact-checkers research and write original, high-quality fact checks and analysis pieces to strict editorial standards and tight deadlines for a mix of audiences, from the readers of our website to private and public sector clients. We also work closely with major social media companies to moderate misinformative content on their platforms.   As Logically Facts’ assistant editor, you will work with a team of fact-checkers/journalists making a direct contribution to our mission to understand and combat mis and disinformation. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of fact-checking initiatives and the development of our fact-checking technology and products.   As an assistant editor, you will be expected to:  Own the process of copy editing and quality control and provide editorial support for fact checks, analysis, articles, insight reports and any other fact-checking-related content, ensuring an extremely high standard of accuracy and clarity in all our output. Be the second stage of reviewing in the workflow of publishing fact-checks with a primary focus on grammar/language, writing quality and editorial rigour. Manage the complaints process and coordinate with leads for revisions and corrections. Write at least one analysis every month. Rank content on the website based on the regional leads’ inputs and suggestions. Provide constructive feedback to fact-checkers to improve their work, with the assigned deputy editor looped in. Train and guide fact-checking team members to write fact-checks, analyses and articles. Work closely with the regional leads to decide on work priorities and ensure the timely publishing of fact-check stories, especially the newsy ones.   Essential Skills and Experience

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.  Professional newsroom, fact-checking, or other editorial experience of at least 2-5 years. You have strong analytical skills and can remain impartial and critical while writing and reviewing complex and sensitive topics. You have the ability to grasp new and complicated information quickly. You have a strong news sense and are up to date with current affairs. You can research and write original, high-quality analysis pieces to strict editorial standards and tight deadlines. You’re a team player. You have a strong understanding of the political and media landscape in India.

Desired skills  You have good knowledge about the fact-checking space and community guidelines. You are familiar with international fact-checking guidelines like IFCN, EFCSN etc and are up to date with the best practices. You are familiar with fact-checking skills and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques.
