Orlando Cruz

Senior Support Engineer at LogRhythm

Orlando Cruz has a diverse background in technical support roles, starting in 2007 as a Technical Support Specialist for companies like Motorola, Hewlett-Packard, Sling Media, and Sony Vaio. Orlando provided technical support for US customers, specializing in hardware and software functionality for home-based network troubleshooting. Orlando also advised customers on the implementation and use of mobile applications.

In 2012, Orlando worked as an intern at the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad.

From 2013 to 2014, they worked as an Independent IT Contractor for Mile Hybrid Automotive, where they administered IT improvements and maximized the efficiency of internal processes. Orlando supervised and documented the installation of systems networks and solved application issues, updated systems, removed viruses, and administered printer networks.

At IBM from 2013 to 2014, Orlando served as a Technical Support Representative in a multicultural call center, providing bilingual (Spanish and English) technical customer support for cloud-based applications. Orlando administered user accounts with Active Directory and supported eMail migrations from IBM Lotus to MS Outlook.

From 2014 to 2015, they worked as an IT Specialist at Outsource Locally, LLC, where they designed and executed solutions for internal and external customers. Orlando implemented remote monitoring and management software and technologies that facilitated company growth, generated leads for expanded services, and reduced costs.

Orlando joined Spectra Logic in 2015 as a Systems Support Technician, providing bilingual technical customer support for Spectra Logic customers using tape libraries and disk data storage solutions. Orlando troubleshooted using logical processes and error log analysis.

Currently, Orlando is working at LogRhythm, where they started as a Support Engineer in 2019. Orlando prioritizes incidents based on impact and severity, acts as a single point of contact for customer incidents, and identifies, diagnoses, and resolves software and hardware challenges. Later on, they advanced to the roles of Advanced Support Engineer and Senior Support Engineer.

Orlando Cruz pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 2004 to 2007, they attended the Universidad de Costa Rica where they studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering. During the same period, they also attended the Universidad de Costa Rica UCR and earned a Tecnico Especializado en Redes y Comunicaciones degree, focusing on System, Networking, and LAN/WAN Management/Manager. Later, from 2010 to 2012, Orlando enrolled at the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Telecommunications Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Orlando Cruz obtained several certifications to complement their knowledge and skills. In 2013, they became a Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching (CCNA) and also achieved the Small and Midsize Business Engineer Representative certification from Cisco. In 2015, they further enhanced their qualifications by becoming a Small and Midsize Business Account Manager Representative certified by Cisco. Most recently, in 2019, Orlando earned the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification. Furthermore, they also hold a Qualys Certified Specialist: Vulnerability Management certification, although the specific details about when and where they obtained it are not available.
