Derick Diaz has a diverse range of work experience. Derick started their career in 2015 as an IT Support Specialist in the United States Air Force. Derick then advanced to the role of Desktop Support Analyst before transitioning to the role of Desktop Support Specialist III at The Pill Club in 2019. In 2020, Derick took on the position of Information Technology Manager at The Pill Club, where they implemented various automation tools and systems. Moving forward, Derick became the Senior System Administrator, where they developed tools using Python and Powershell and created an Ansible playbook for infrastructure patching. In 2022, they transitioned to the role of Associate DevOps Engineer at The Pill Club, where they utilized C#, Golang, AWS, and Terraform to automate processes and build CI/CD pipelines. Currently, Derick works as a Principal Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer (Devops) at Loki Labs, starting in 2023. Throughout their career, Derick has demonstrated strong technical skills and the ability to adapt to different roles and responsibilities.
Derick Diaz has a strong educational background in the field of information technology and cybersecurity. Derick obtained an Associate's degree in Information Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force in the years 2014 to 2018. Subsequently, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity at the University of Maryland Global Campus from 2017 to 2022. Derick further enhanced their knowledge and skills by completing several certifications. In 2015, they obtained the CompTIA A+ ce certification from CompTIA. In 2016, they earned the CompTIA Security+ ce certification from the same institution. Derick also holds the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification, which they received in October 2021 from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Additionally, they obtained the Cisco Certified Network Associate Cyber Ops (CCNA Cyber Ops) and Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) certifications from Cisco in May 2018 and September 2018, respectively. More recently, in February 2022, they achieved the Cisco Certified DevNet Associate certification from Cisco and the AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2022. Currently, Derick is pursuing a Master's degree in Information Technology with a Software Engineering Specialization at the University of Maryland Global Campus, starting in 2021 and anticipated to be completed by 2025.
