Javed Mortuza

Javed Mortuza has over 19 years of work experience in software engineering and web development. Javed started their career in 2001 as a Webmaster at City College of New York, where they created web templates, built graphic elements, implemented information structure, developed features and maintained content. Javed also created and maintained an electronic portfolio system to be used by the instructors and students of the school in various courses.

In 2004, Javed moved to North Carolina State University, where they served as a Web Applications Developer. In this role, they maintained Intranet website infrastructure and developed J2EE-driven and Java Web Services enabled Intranet applications, including a RSS-based news aggregator and a Web-based Document Peer Review System.

In 2005, Javed joined BuildLinks as a Software Engineer. Javed worked as a full-stack developer and in a team of software engineers to design and develop web-based residential construction management software. Javed practiced agile methodology and participated in daily scrums, team sprint planning and sprint demos. Javed also participated in semi-annual Hack Day projects to develop and demonstrate innovative and customer-centric applications using state-of-the-art technologies.

In 2014, Javed joined Oracle Bronto as a Senior Software Engineer. Javed created technical specifications for new feature development and collaborated with team members to make sure the specifications met the requirements and that work was completed timely. Javed developed high-performance software using Java multithreading, OOP, design patterns and loosely-coupled architecture. Javed also worked on redesigning a legacy feature in the application and improved its performance by five times using Java multithreading, JDBC batch transactions and various other optimizations.

Most recently, Javed joined Lolli in 2020 as a Senior Staff Engineer.

Javed Mortuza obtained their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The City College of New York between 1999 and 2003. Prior to that, they attended Government Laboratory High School from 1990 to 1994 and obtained their SSC in Science. In addition, Javed Mortuza has obtained several certifications, including Blockchain and Bitcoin Fundamentals from Udemy in July 2020, Master Microservices with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud from Udemy in July 2020, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate 2020 from Udemy in February 2020, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate Introduction from Udemy in February 2020, Getting Started with Google Kubernetes Engine from Coursera in April 2019, Body Language for Leaders from LinkedIn in February 2019, Learning How to Learn: Powerful mental tools to help you master tough subjects from Coursera Course Certificates in November 2015, and Decision-Making Fundamentals from Lynda.com in January 2017.
