David Kline

Trustee at Long Island University

David Kline is currently a Board Member at Long Island University. David previously served as the Executive Vice President Technology and CTO/CIO of Viacom from November 2010 to December 2019. During their time at Viacom, Kline successfully redefined and launched a technology division through the introduction of a key strategy to deconstruct a silo focused business and transform it into a unified/lean Media and Technology Services organization. David also established the "Art of the Possible" initiative aimed at continuously challenging core infrastructure/workflows and strategic collaborations to develop deep partnerships. Under Kline's leadership, Viacom attained alignment with business objectives and delivered quality products and services through the implementation of ITSM and Scaled Agile/Scrum/Safe as guardrails for technology operations, and project/development activities. Kline also implemented a culture/environment that encouraged divisions to evolve and change through the execution of sound investment rationale and governance.

David Kline's educational career includes earning an MBA in Information Systems from Long Island University, a Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing from Long Island University, and a Master of Science in Cyber Security from New York University. David is also certified as a Certified Software Manager (CSM) and Advanced Software Manager (ASM) from the Certified Software Solutions organization, ITIL Foundation Certified Training Level from the ITIL Foundations and Service Manager Certified program, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) from The Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC), and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
