David Callaert

David Callaert has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, currently serving as the SVP of Global Strategic Growth Investments & Engineering at Lonza since July 2019. Prior to this role, Callaert held leadership positions at Novartis, where responsibilities included heading Global Engineering Biotechnology and Aseptics, and at GlaxoSmithKline, where roles encompassed Head of Engineering and Maintenance, Head of Total Quality Culture, and Site Director for a vaccine production facility in Marietta, PA. Callaert's earlier career includes significant roles at Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson, demonstrating a strong track record in engineering, project management, and quality assurance. Education credentials include studies at KU Leuven from 1989 to 1996.
