Sumanth Vijayakumar

Sumanth Vijayakumar has diverse work experience in software engineering. Sumanth is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Lookout since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Location Labs by Avast from September 2018 to March 2021 as a Software Engineer - Backend. During their time there, they implemented scalable microservices, improved user base by 23% through a carrier-agnostic signup flow, and increased location yield by 19%.

Before Location Labs, Sumanth worked at World Travel Holdings as a Software Engineer from August 2015 to September 2018. Sumanth developed microservices for web applications and optimized UX flow and backend systems to increase efficiency in bookings by 14%. Sumanth followed Agile scrum processes and participated in daily standups.

Sumanth's previous experience includes being a Software Developer Intern at 8x8, Inc. from December 2014 to May 2015 and an Intern M Security Engineering at Juniper Networks from June 2014 to August 2014. At Juniper Networks, they developed and modified Perl scripts to test security gateway routers. Sumanth also assisted in daily sanity checks and test bed setup for automation scripts.

In addition to their industry experience, Sumanth worked as a Graduate Student Assistant at San Jose State University from October 2013 to February 2014. Sumanth started their career as a Software Engineer at Fidelity Investments, where they worked from August 2010 to July 2013. During their tenure, they developed Java applications, created tools for web application deployments, and automated processes using Shell and Groovy scripts.

Sumanth Vijayakumar completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Bangalore Institute of Technology, spanning from 2006 to 2010. Afterwards, they pursued a Master's degree in Software Engineering from San Jose State University, which they successfully obtained from 2013 to 2015.
