Laura Barker has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and technology industries. Laura started their career as a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in 2011, where they worked on various projects in the biotech/pharma sector. Laura then moved up to become a Project Leader and later a Principal, focusing on evaluating acquisition opportunities, managing partnerships, and developing strategies for biotech/pharma companies.

In 2016, Laura joined Invitae, a genetic information company, where they held the position of Head of Commercial for Neurology, Pediatric, and Rare Disease. During their time at Invitae, they also served as the Head of Biopharma Partnerships and Business Development, where they built and scaled a partnership business to improve accessibility to genetic testing for rare disease patients and facilitate faster trials and commercialization in the Biopharma industry.

Since 2018, Laura has been working at X, the moonshot factory within Alphabet. In their role as part of an early stage team at X, they focus on the intersection of life sciences and computation to invent and launch innovative technologies.
