Philip Gilsenan has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple companies and roles. Philip started their career as the Founder and Creative Head of GL Design, a graphic design and marketing consultancy. After that, Philip joined Google in 2007 and held various roles including Agency Acquisition Sales Consultant, Partner Development in Acquisition Sales, Sales and Acquisition Business Partner, and Manager Development in the Global Business Org. In these positions, they worked on sales training, coaching programs, and performance management initiatives.

Philip then moved to X, the moonshot factory, where they served as Graduation Operations Lead and Factory Operations Principal. Philip later became the Head of Talent Operations, leading the operations function for hiring efforts and focusing on People Operations. Currently, Philip is the Head of Central Systems & Automation at X, where they lead a team responsible for running, optimizing, and improving systems and processes within the central people function. Philip also takes on experimental projects to enhance operational capabilities at X.

Philip Gilsenan began their education at University College Dublin in 2000, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Computer Science and Theoretical Physics in 2005. Following this, they attended the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School from 2005 to 2006, obtaining a Master of Science in Marketing Practice. In 2020, Philip attended Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford for an Executive Diploma in Financial Strategy, which they completed in 2021. Most recently, in 2023 and 2024, they attended the Columbia Business School for the Venture Capital Private Equity Program, although the field of study is unspecified.
