Lorica Cybersecurity is on a mission to develop the next generation of secure applications using homomorphic encryption technology. Homomorphic encryption (HE) is a privacy-enhancing technology (PET) that allows computations to be performed on encrypted data without ever revealing either the contents of the data, the computation, or the result. Located in Toronto, Canada and Maryland, USA, Lorica is currently building, with industry partners, the world’s most secure private query and machine learning platform.

About this role:

Lorica is seeking an exceptional and experienced Frontend Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the delivery of large-scale enterprise applications. In this role, you will be working on designing and developing Lorica's cross-platform web applications.

What you will be doing:

  • Innovate, lead and contribute to front-end development of Lorica products.

  • Owning full end-to-end custom web development process and deliverables, from wireframing to production.

  • Working closely with both the development and business teams to develop user friendly cross platform applications.

  • A desire to stay ahead of the competition on use and development of emerging software engineering technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline (or the equivalent).

  • 2+ years of professional non-internship experience with front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.

  • Proficiency in front-end development, with experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks - React, Vue, Angular etc., UI Test Automation frameworks.

  • Deep understanding of state management and componentization and the related libraries (Redux, Vuex).

  • Demonstrated passion for a high user experience with customer focus.

  • Experience with A/B testing Experience with Vue or other modern javascript frameworks.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for building new products in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; not afraid to invent and try new things; take calculated risks.

  • Sharp analytical abilities, design skills, strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive to accomplish.

  • Excellent learner who can adopt new technologies quickly. Interest in solving complex, intellectually challenging problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise with cloud services, such as AWS.

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, and code instrumentation.

  • Prior knowledge of cross-platform development in WebAssembly, Electron, Ionic , React Native etc.
