Ghadir Hamadi

Ghadir Hamadi is a co-founder of Sawab, the first youth-led fact-checking and hate speech combating platform in Lebanon, focused on addressing fake news and fostering critical thinking within the community. In addition to this role, Ghadir serves as a fact-checker and journalist for L'Orient-Le Jour and L'Orient Today, respectively. Previous experience includes working as an English language facilitator for UNICEF Lebanon and War Child Holland, where Ghadir contributed to educational projects for vulnerable children in Lebanon. Ghadir’s background also includes freelance writing for German Development Cooperation (Giz) and tutoring Arabic as a second language. Additional roles include communication officer at the Media Association for Peace and podcaster for stories from Mina, Tripoli. Ghadir holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the American University of Science and Technology.
