Los Angeles City Attorney
Steven Otera serves as General Counsel for the Los Angeles City Attorney, leading a team of 13 lawyers and nine support staff at the Port of Los Angeles since April 2022. Previously, Steven held positions as Assistant City Attorney and Deputy City Attorney within the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, overseeing significant transactional and litigation matters for the Port. With earlier experience as Director of Legal Compliance and Education at LRN and extensive roles at various law firms, including Russell & Mirkovich and Baker & Hostetler, Steven's legal career is complemented by a Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from UCLA.
