John Sears is a seasoned professional in data science and analytics with extensive experience in the sports and technology sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor for the Los Angeles Dodgers, John focuses on quantitative strategies to enhance team performance. As a Founding Member of InvestInData, John contributes to an angel collective aimed at supporting data startups. Previous roles include Vice President of Basketball Analytics for the Minnesota Timberwolves, where John led data-driven strategies to improve decision-making, and Director of Data Science and Analytics at KeepTruckin, addressing complex issues in transportation through advanced machine learning techniques. Additional experience includes positions at Uber, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Federal Reserve Board, coupled with a solid educational foundation consisting of a Master's in Operations Research from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Carleton College.
