Kara Rooney

Kara Rooney serves as the Associate Director of Community Relations for the Los Angeles Lakers since September 2019, previously holding the position of Sr. Manager in the same department. Prior to this, Kara was the Executive Director of the Count On Me Family Foundation from May 2015 to August 2019, where the organization focused on empowering children through impactful programs and community outreach. Kara also contributed as the Program Director for the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation, emphasizing confidence building, health, and educational experiences for youth. Earlier professional experience includes working as a Financial Recruiter at CarterPierce, LLC from December 2012 to April 2015, specializing in recruiting for private equity funds and hedge funds. Kara holds an Executive Certificate in Sports Philanthropy from The George Washington University, and has completed a CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State University, Bakersfield, following studies at UC Irvine.
