Dan Nishimoto

Dan Nishimoto is an experienced professional with a diverse background in library science, education, and the arts. Currently employed as a librarian at the Los Angeles Public Library since January 2018, Dan serves on a city-appointed racial equity board focusing on equity in hiring, promotion, and retention. In addition to library work, Dan has been a content producer for Amplify since February 2015, managing digital education curricula for K-12 students. A freelance DJ and musician since 1994, Dan performs at various events and organizes creative sessions. Expertise in writing is demonstrated through contributions to notable publications and a personal website. Previous roles include digital archivist at Conde Nast and education program manager at prominent institutions like MoMA and the Brooklyn Museum. Dan holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California, Berkeley.
