Laura Johnston is an experienced educator and professional with a diverse background in teaching and communications. Currently serving as a Teacher-Librarian and Teacher Teaching On Call in Surrey Schools (School District #36 Surrey) since January 2021, Laura has also held multiple teaching roles and worked as a summer school teacher within the same district. Prior experience includes a role as a Teacher Teaching On Call with School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) and various positions in communications and customer service, such as Lifeguard & Swim Instructor with the City of Surrey and Communications Internships with the BC Alliance for Arts + Culture and the Canadian Red Cross. An alumna of McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, Drama & Theatre, and French, Laura is currently pursuing a Professional Master of Education at Queen's University, building upon a solid foundation that also includes a Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University and a Diploma of Technology in Broadcast and Online Journalism from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
