Portia Njoku

Portia Njoku is an experienced music educator and performer currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Los Rios Community College District and a Music Lecturer in Tuba at the University of California, Davis. With a diverse background, Portia has taught hybrid and online music courses at American River College and Folsom Lake College and has performed as a tubist with the Grand Isle Fire Brigade and the American River Brass Quintet. Additionally, Portia has experience as a freelance musician, composer, and music instructor, teaching low brass to students of all ages, and has held various roles in music education and orchestral management, including serving as an Orchestra Librarian for the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera. Portia holds a Master of Music degree in Composition and Tuba Performance from California State University-Sacramento and multiple teaching certificates related to online education.
