Colleen Smalley

Colleen Smalley, PE, is a Chemical Engineer currently working at Lucas Engineering and Management Services, Inc. since May 2021, focusing on software development for TOPSim, a process modeling software for waste treatment. Previously, Colleen served as an Industrial Engineer at Boeing, where contributions included analyzing production data through SQL queries, conducting time studies to optimize installation processes, and facilitating workshops to improve build sequences. Colleen also has experience as a Process Engineer at Washington River Protection Solutions, where engagement with TOPSim’s development earned recognition for expertise in spreadsheet creation and complex calculations. Early career roles included managing control systems for nuclear waste vitrification projects at Mid Columbia Engineering and conducting process optimization analyses during a co-op at North Pacific Paper Company. Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
