Abhisek Ghosal, Ph.D

Abhisek Ghosal, Ph.D has a strong background in scientific research and development, specializing in molecular biology and cellular biology. Abhisek has held various roles in different companies and organizations throughout their career.

From 2010 to 2015, Ghosal worked at UC Irvine as an Assistant Project Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow. Abhisek'sresearch focused on molecular characterizations of water-soluble vitamin transporters in pancreatic beta cells and intestinal cells, with a particular emphasis on the physiology and pathophysiology of malnutrition and bacterial infection. Abhisek has significant expertise in areas such as gene expression regulation, transgenic and knockout animal models, cell biology, and microbial pathogenesis.

Following their time at UC Irvine, Ghosal joined PRODO LABORATORIES, INC. as a Scientist I from 2015 to 2017. In this role, they continued their research in molecular biology, further honing their skills in experimentation and analysis.

In 2017, Ghosal transitioned to ResearchDx, where they held several roles over a span of four years. Abhisek began as a Scientist II R&D from 2017 to 2018, then advanced to the position of Scientist III R&D from 2018 to 2020. During this time, they contributed to the company's R&D efforts in the field of pharma service and clinical assays. Ghosal's work involved the development and characterization of novel transporters in pancreatic islet and intestinal cells through the creation of stable cell lines and recombinant protein overexpression. Abhisek also conducted studies on gene expression, intestinal permeability, tight junctions, and inflammation in vivo using transgenic and intestine-specific conditional knockout mice.

In 2020, Ghosal was promoted to the role of Senior Scientist at ResearchDx and continued their contributions until February 2021. Abhisek further expanded their expertise in clinical assay development and pharmaceutical services.

From 2021 to 2022, Ghosal joined NeoGenomics Laboratories as a Senior Scientist in R&D, focusing on clinical assay development. In this role, they contributed to the research and development of clinical assays, applying their knowledge and skills to enhance diagnostic capabilities.

Currently, Ghosal works as a Senior Scientist in NGS Product Development at Lucid Diagnostics, starting from July 2022. In this position, they continue to contribute their expertise in molecular biology and assay development to the company's efforts in Next-Generation Sequencing product development.

Throughout their career, Ghosal has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented their research at scientific meetings. Additionally, they have been selected as a reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals, showcasing their recognition within the scientific community.

Abhisek Ghosal, Ph.D has a diverse education history spanning both scientific research and regulatory affairs. In 1996, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry Hons from the University of Calcutta. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Biochemistry from the University of Calcutta from 2000 to 2002.

In 2004, Abhisek Ghosal began their doctoral studies at NICED-JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY, specializing in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Abhisek successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in 2010.

After completing their Ph.D., Abhisek Ghosal pursued further education in regulatory affairs. In 2022, they obtained a Regulatory Affairs Certification from RAPS, specializing in Medical Device regulatory affairs.

In addition to their formal education, Abhisek Ghosal has also obtained several certifications to enhance their skills. In 2015, they completed "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" certification from John Hopkins University on Coursera. In 2017, they obtained certifications in "Initiating and Planning Projects" from the University of California, Irvine by Coursera, as well as "Genomic Data Science with Galaxy" and "Introduction to Genomic Technologies" from John Hopkins University by Coursera. Furthermore, in 2018, they completed "Command Line Tools for Genomic Data Science" certification from John Hopkins University on Coursera. Most recently, in 2019, they obtained the "Python for Genomic Data Science" certification from Coursera: Johns Hopkins University.
