Richard Owen

Richard Owen is a Consultant Oesophagogastric Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with experience since April 2022. Richard also serves as a Senior Clinical Researcher at Ludwig Cancer Research, where ongoing translational research focuses on oesophageal cancer development and prevention using advanced sequencing technologies. Prior clinical training includes roles as a Specialty Trainee in General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery and General Surgery across various deaneries. Richard holds a DPhil in Clinical Medicine, focused on Cancer Research from the University of Oxford, and has completed several other notable qualifications, including an FRCS and MRCS in Surgery. Educational foundations include an MB ChB with honors from the University of Liverpool and a PGCert in Medical Education from the University of Dundee.
