Mark Dennis has a diverse and extensive work experience in the insurtech industry. In 2016, they co-founded and served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Digital Partners, a Munich Re company. During their tenure, they played a significant role in building and scaling the company, leading to its growth as a global operation. Mark was responsible for writing approximately $500m of Gross Written Premium (GWP) and played a pivotal role in launching top-tier insurtechs, such as Next Insurance and Bought By Many. Additionally, Mark was the programme sponsor for the development and launch of John Lewis & Partners' new home insurance proposition in the UK.
Mark's experience also includes founding and directing Insurtech Horizons Ltd, a consultancy that supports insurtech businesses in scaling operations. Mark worked closely with established insurance and reinsurance companies on transformation and innovation strategies. Moreover, Mark has served in interim COO and transformation director roles at Compre Group and Flock, where they provided strategic guidance and oversaw operational transformations.
Furthermore, Mark has held industry advisory roles at Kei.Ventures, EQT Group, and Tech Nation, where they provided insights and advice on the insurtech sector. Mark has also contributed to the insurance industry as a member of advisory boards, such as Insurance Innovators Advisory Board at MarketforceLive and the Advisory Board at Penni.
Most recently, Mark co-founded Lukango in 2022 and assumed the position of Co-Founder and COO.
Mark Dennis has a Bachelor's degree in Systems Analysis from the University of the West of England, which they obtained between 1988 and 1992. Mark also holds a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from The Open University, having completed the program from 2000 to 2003. Prior to their university education, Mark attended Dame Alice Owen's School from 1980 to 1987. In addition to their academic qualifications, Mark Dennis has obtained the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification from the APM Group in October 2011.
