Gongwen Zhu

Gongwen Zhu is an accomplished optical engineer with extensive experience in the design and development of fiber laser components. Currently serving as a Principal Optical Engineer at Lumentum since March 2020, Gongwen Zhu specializes in the design, testing, and analysis of critical fiber laser components while focusing on product performance and manufacturability. Previously, as an Application Engineer at AFL from September 2015 to February 2020, Gongwen Zhu conducted research and development on advanced fiber optic components for high power fiber lasers. Gongwen Zhu began an academic career as a Graduate Research Associate at the University of Arizona, where a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Master of Science (MS) in Optical Sciences were obtained. The undergraduate training was completed at the University of Science and Technology of China with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics.
