Jon Sterk

Jon Sterk is a principal member of the technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories, specializing in optical engineering and quantum physics since April 2011. Expertise includes the design, modeling, and optimization of quantum and photonic devices, with notable accomplishments in writing custom optimization code for photonic applications. Prior experience includes roles as a faculty research assistant at the Joint Quantum Institute, where Jon was the chief investigator for projects enhancing light collection efficiency in quantum networks, and a graduate student research assistant at the University of Michigan, focusing on ion trap design and analysis. Educational qualifications comprise a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on optics from the University of Michigan and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
