Peter Roorda

Peter Roorda has over three decades of work experience in the telecommunications industry. Peter currently works at Lumentum as the VP of Product Line Management. Prior to this role, they served as the VP of Research and Development at Lumentum from 2015 to 2022. Peter also held the position of Director of R&D from 2015 to 2018. Before joining Lumentum, Peter worked at JDSU as the Director of Product Lifecycle Management from 2011 to 2015, overseeing product and technology strategy. Peter also worked as a Product Manager at JDSU from 2004 to 2011. Peter began their career at Innovance Networks as a Network Architect from 2000 to 2004. Peter started their professional journey at Nortel Networks as a Network Planner from 1993 to 2000.

Peter Roorda completed their BASc in Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 1986 to 1991. Following that, they pursued an MASc in Electrical Engineering at The University of British Columbia from 1991 to 1993.
