Heather Qian has over 20 years of work experience in the technology and healthcare industries. Heather began their career in 1997 as a Marketing Analyst and Information System Analyst at General Electric Corporation. In 1999, they joined WellPoint as a Project Manager in Medical Affairs Decision Support, where they managed a team of eight business analysts and led the development of a large-scale data collection, reporting, and analysis system for HEDIS reporting. In 2001, they moved to Siebel Systems as a Senior Product Manager, where they managed strategic marketing for Service and Call Center application suites for over 1,500 active corporate customers. Heather then joined Wellpoint Anthem in 2004 as an Executive Management Consultant, managing multiple enterprise wide, high profile, industry leading HIT programs. In 2007, they moved to Anthem, Inc. as Health Information Technology Strategy Director, leading partnership development with multiple statewide and regional HIEs and developing an enterprise Health Information Technology (HIT) strategy. In 2013, they joined Kaiser Permanente as Managing Director of Advanced Analytics, managing a complex, highly skilled group of directors, managers, statisticians, analysts, and programmers. Heather is currently the Vice President of Product Management at Lumiata, a position they have held since 2018.

Heather Qian completed a Data Mining and Applications Graduate Certificate from Stanford University in 2015. In 2005, they received a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with a focus on Marketing, Finance, and Analytic Finance. Heather also holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Statistics from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
