Elaine Wah

Elaine Wah is a seasoned professional currently serving as Vice President and Data Science Team Lead at BlackRock's AI Labs, where a multi-disciplinary team focuses on leveraging data science and artificial intelligence to address high-impact strategic challenges. In addition to this role, Elaine holds the position of Adjunct Associate Faculty at Columbia University, instructing courses in Financial Data Science and Machine Learning within the Applied Analytics program. As a Founding Member of Chief, Elaine contributes to a network dedicated to supporting women leaders. Elaine also mentors research students at Lumiere Education, providing high school students with access to research opportunities. Previously, Elaine held key roles at IEX, including Head of Policy Research and Head of Quantitative Research, contributing to market structure research and client performance analysis. Elaine's early career includes internships at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Microsoft Research, complemented by a strong academic foundation with a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan.
