Chris Lubeck currently serves as the Head of Intellectual Property at Luminar Technologies since September 2021 and is also an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University since January 2020. Previously, Chris held significant roles such as Senior Director, Head of Patents and Open Source at ServiceNow, and Associate General Counsel, Chief IP Counsel at Tesla, where responsibilities included managing patent strategies. Early legal experience includes positions at Haynes and Boone, LLP as an Intellectual Property Attorney, and at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where services focused on patent litigation. Chris's legal education includes a J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and advanced degrees in Materials Science and Engineering, alongside a B.S. in Physics from the University of Notre Dame.
