James Sanders

James Sanders is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in LiDAR technology and data analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer and LiDAR Data Scientist at Luminar Technologies, James specializes in lidar calibration, algorithm development, and point cloud analysis. Previous roles include Systems Engineer at Leica Geosystems, where James developed algorithms for airborne LiDAR and camera systems, and Research Assistant and PhD Candidate at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, conducting research on quantitative SPECT/CT. James holds a PhD in Computer Science from FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, along with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, respectively.
