Steven Derek Rountree

Steven Derek Rountree is a seasoned research scientist with extensive experience in scientific and engineering consultation. Currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist at LUNA Innovations since November 2016, Steven previously worked as an Engineer and Co-Owner at Lemmon and Rountree, LLC, providing expertise in nuclear and particle simulation, detector design, and software development. Prior experience also includes a significant research role at Virginia Tech from 2003 to 2016, where responsibilities encompassed project management, proposal writing, mechanical design, data acquisition, simulation design, and supervision of research tasks. Steven holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Virginia Tech and dual bachelor's degrees in Physics and Computer Science from Louisiana State University.
