Geoffrey Vaartstra

Geoffrey Vaartstra is a Senior Thermal Engineer at Lydian, having joined the company in August 2023. Prior to this role, Geoffrey served as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from September 2017 to August 2023 and facilitated collaboration-based workshops for undergraduates in calculus and engineering courses during time as an Academic Excellence Workshop Facilitator at Syracuse University. Geoffrey's undergraduate research involved computational studies on nanoscale water molecule infiltration in MFI zeolite pores, utilizing molecular dynamics simulations and custom C++ codes. Educationally, Geoffrey holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University. Additionally, Geoffrey is pursuing studies at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
