Matthew Jacobson

Matthew Jacobson has extensive experience in the maritime industry. Matthew has worked as a Division Head/Service Manager at Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding since 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Captain and Project Manager for MY Scout, a 73ft Classic Motor Yacht. Matthew also served as the First Mate on MY Romanza, a 36-meter privately owned yacht, where they managed the deck and attended to guest needs. Additionally, they worked as a Logistics Coordinator and Tender Captain for both SY Lyra and SY Angel's Share, where they were involved in refits, racing, and various onboard duties. Earlier in their career, Matthew worked as a Captain for Yachting Solutions, operating power yachts and ensuring their safe operation in various weather conditions. Matthew also served as a Captain for Camden Harbor Cruises and as a Mate for Penobscot Bay Pilot Association. Additionally, they worked as a Captain and Caretaker for a private estate, managing their boats and overseeing various responsibilities. Starting their career, Matthew served as the Fleet and Facilities Coordinator for Hurricane Island Outward Bound School, where they gained experience in expedition sailing and emergency evacuations.

Matthew Jacobson attended Vestal Senior High School from 2002 to 2006. Matthew then went on to study Expeditionary Studies at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh from 2006 to 2007, completing 3 semesters in the field.
