Giovanni Traverso

Giovanni Traverso has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Giovanni began their career at MIT in 2010 as a Research Affiliate and later became a Visiting Scientist in the MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering. In 2015, Traverso co-founded Lyndra, a company focused on pharmaceuticals. Giovanni continued their entrepreneurial ventures by co-founding Suono Bio in 2017, Celero Systems in 2017, and Vivtex in 2018. Traverso joined Brigham and Women's Hospital in 2016 as an Instructor in Medicine and later became an Assistant Professor. In 2019, they transitioned to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an Assistant Professor and is currently an Associate Professor. Traverso's most recent entrepreneurial endeavor is co-founding Syntis Bio in 2022. Overall, Traverso has extensive experience in academia, research, and entrepreneurship.

Giovanni Traverso obtained a BA degree in Medical Sciences and Genetics from the University of Cambridge in the years 1995 to 1998. Giovanni pursued further studies at The Johns Hopkins University from 1998 to 2002, where they completed their PhD in the field of Early Detection of Colon Cancer. In 2003 to 2006, they attended the University of Cambridge again, this time earning an MB, BChir degree in Medicine. No additional educational experiences were provided.
