Katherine Moore Powell has a diverse background in various industries. Katherine is currently working at Lynker Technologie as a Senior Water Resource Scientist and Technical Director, where they lead the development of scientific geospatial visualizations and water resource maps. Prior to this, they worked at The Field Museum as an Associate Scientist and Project Manager, focusing on climate ecology. Katherine also held the role of an Ecohydrologist at the United States Geological Survey. Additionally, they have experience as a Lead TA and Graduate Researcher at CU-Boulder and as a Graduate Researcher at the University of South Florida College of Arts and Sciences, where they conducted research on wetland mitigation. Katherine has also worked as a Business Owner and Software Analyst at Various Sources Inc, providing customized software solutions for various industries. Earlier in their career, they worked at Dun & Bradstreet as a Senior Software Engineer and Project Manager.
Katherine Moore Powell holds a PhD in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder, which they earned from 2010 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Hydrogeology from the University of South Florida from 2006 to 2008. Katherine also has a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of South Florida, which they completed from 2004 to 2006. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor's degree in Management of Information Systems from the University of South Florida, which they obtained from 1985 to 1988. In 1998, Katherine obtained certification as a Private Pilot, Aircraft Single Engine Land, Instrument from Faa Flight Standards Dist.
