What you’ll do

You will head and develop Lysa’s first line work with financial crime prevention. As such, you will be expected to set the priorities and strategies for Lysa’s work within this field and play a key role in the continued organization of the team you will be heading.

You will identify, prevent and monitor risks relating to AML/CTF. You will lead improvements to monitoring processes, customer risk rating and review, KYC-processes and investigation routines to improve and automate the processes for detecting and investigating suspicious activity. You will also develop and maintain internal policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with applicable external rules.

We are currently recruiting further AML officers to the team who will report to you. Naturally, you will work closely with them, guiding them in their daily work of e.g. investigating suspicious activity. Lysa is growing quickly and you will be expected to help out where it is needed alongside with the rest of the team. Going forward, we expect that you will recruit further AML officers/lawyers as the team continues to grow together with the company.

You will work closely together with tech, product and of course the rest of the legal team, making sure that we continue to have a strong focus on AML and fraud prevention in all product development. You will also work closely together with our AML compliance officer (second line) providing strategic guidance on upcoming regulatory changes within your field and contributing to ongoing competence throughout the Lysa team by providing information and training.

You will be part of the Lysa group’s legal team of currently five lawyers and report to the General Counsel.

Who you are

You are analytical, structured and you thrive in an environment where you have a great influence and large responsibility. You are solution-oriented and have a great commercial understanding which helps you when you work closely with product managers, engineers and other stakeholders; something you enjoy since you appreciate working in a team towards a mutual goal.

We expect you to have a great understanding of the risk-based approach to financial crime risk management and a solid knowledge, and practical experience, of the Swedish and European AML & CTF regulations and the obligations deriving therefrom. A legal background is strongly beneficial as you will be handling a variety of legal matters within the AML/CFT field. However, we value your genuine interest in our business, strong ambition, curiosity and willingness to learn higher than many years of experience and a specific degree.

You are passionate about your job and you are particularly passionate about AML/CTF compliance - areas in which you are experienced but most importantly, in which you have a great interest. Ideally, you’ve spent a few years of your career on financial crime and fraud prevention - perhaps you have been working as a AML/CTF compliance officer or lawyer at a financial institution, or maybe you have been focusing on anti-money laundering or financial crime related matters at a well-renowned law firm.

You have strong project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to explain complex issues in an easy way. You also get a kick out of the challenge of combining tech and AML considerations to create the best possible product for our customers.
