Debra Dekelbaum

Debra Dekelbaum has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Debra is currently working as the Director of Global PR at M-Files since July 2022. Prior to this, they were the Senior Manager of Global PR at M-Files from January 2022 to June 2022. Debra also held the position of Senior Manager of Corporate PR & Analyst Relations at M-Files from December 2018 to December 2021.

Before joining M-Files, Debra worked at Worksoft as the Media Communications Manager (PR Lead/Marketing Comms Manager) from January 2013 to October 2018. In this role, they led B2B PR and media relations efforts, managed marketing communications programs, and secured media coverage for the automation software provider.

Debra also has experience working at Dell Services as an Internal Communications Consultant from October 2011 to October 2012. In this role, they led and managed internal communications initiatives to build support and engagement.

Debra previously worked at Hill+Knowlton Strategies (Public Strategies, Inc.) as the Principal/Sr. Communications Manager on-site at Dell Services from May 2010 to October 2011. At Hill+Knowlton Strategies, they led the Commercial/Large Enterprise public relations efforts for Dell Services, including media relations, executive communications, and social media initiatives.

Debra has also acted as a freelance PR consultant, owning their own company called DBD Public Relations from June 2009 to May 2010. During this time, they managed national media relations efforts for clients in various industries and secured coverage in major publications.

Earlier in their career, Debra worked as the Director of Industry Public Relations at Siemens PLM Software from May 2007 to June 2009, where they directed PR programs for multiple industries and managed media relations campaigns.

Debra also has experience working at FleishmanHillard as a Managing Supervisor from February 2002 to April 2007, and as an Account Supervisor from January 2000 to February 2002. In these roles, they developed and executed PR strategies for clients in various sectors, including technology, telecommunications, energy, and real estate.

Debra began their career at Bustin & Co. as the Manager of Media Strategy, eventually being promoted to Director of Media Strategy from March 1998 to January 2000.

Prior to their PR career, Debra worked at American University Washington College of Law as a Media Relations Specialist from 1997 to 1998, where they conceptualized and implemented media campaigns to promote faculty expertise. Debra also worked as an Alumni Relations Coordinator from 1995 to 1997, assisting with alumni events and fundraising programs.

Debra Dekelbaum holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Communication from American University. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Journalism from the University of Delaware. Debra also had the opportunity to study abroad during a spring semester at Birkbeck, University of London. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate in Transformational Leadership from Southern Methodist University.
