Tom Byrd

Vice President of Government Programs at M1 Support Services

Mr. Tom Byrd has thirty-five years of experience directing Department of Defense operations and programs for both public use and private use aircraft. His experience includes senior leadership, program management, and project management positions with twenty-five years of profit/loss and performance accountability in high paced, high demand, and highly visible positions.

Prior to joining M1 Support Services Mr. Byrd was Vice President, Government Programs and Operations at Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) and had senior leadership responsibility for the T-6A Texan II Production, Modification, and Logistics Support Programs, T-1 Jayhawk Sustainment Program, T-34 Mentor Support Program, several foreign military programs, and the Aircraft Modification Facility. Before joining HBC, Mr. Byrd served as General Manager L-3 Communications Aeromet, General Manager L-3 Communications Flight International, and Sr. Director of the L-3 Communication Integrated Systems Aircraft Services Business Unit. In 2002 Tom was awarded the highly coveted L-3 Communications President’s Award as the person making the single largest contribution to corporate growth and performance.

Mr. Byrd who is a Vietnam era Veteran, graduated from Florida Institute of Technology in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Flight Technology. Likewise, he is a graduate of the Defense Acquisition University Advanced Program Management Program and the Defense Acquisition University General/Flag Officer Program.
