Dominic Beal

Dominic is an Account Executive at MacDougall, where he specializes in scientific writing and strategic communications. As a PhD-trained Immunologist with over a decade of experience working in academia, contract research and the biotech industry, Dominic has a diverse knowledge base in autoimmunity, oncology and infectious disease. Prior to joining MacDougall, Dominic was the Scientific Advisor at the Food Allergy Science Initiative, coordinating over 20 academic researchers and clinicians from across the US to help develop FASI’s scientific strategy of re-shaping the food allergy research space, as well as translating the details of academic research into language aimed at potential partners, investors, and the general public. Dominic also worked in pre-clinical study design for Biomodels, a CRO focused on generating IND-enabling data, and as a research scientist in several early-stage biotechs in the Boston area. Dominic received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Cambridge, before earning a master’s degree in the Immunology of Infectious Disease at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He moved from England to the United States in 2006 and performed his PhD research in the lab of Dr. Daniel Remick at the Boston University School of Medicine, primarily focusing on the role of macrophage phenotypes in asthma.
