Tiyana Athwal

Tiyana Athwal is an Associate at Macfarlanes. Tiyana has over seven years of experience working in the legal industry.

Tiyana started their career as an intern at Eversheds in April 2011. Tiyana then interned at Solo Capital Partners LLP in November 2013 before starting their role as a Pensions and Competition Trainee Solicitor at Freeths LLP in January 2014. In September 2018, Tiyana moved to News UK where they worked as a Solicitor on secondment for nine months. Tiyana returned to Freeths LLP in June 2021 and worked there until they joined Macfarlanes as an Associate in July 2021.

During their time at university, Tiyana was heavily involved in extracurricular activities. Tiyana was a member of the Student Law Society and volunteered at a local law centre. Tiyana also spent a year working as a Student Ambassador for the University of Leicester.

Tiyana has a keen interest in business and commercial law and has experience advising clients on a range of legal matters including operations, property, technology, procurement, logistics and retail.

Tiyana Athwal was educated at The Polesworth School, Edgbaston High School for Girls and the University of Leicester, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws - LLB. Tiyana then went on to study for the Legal Practice Course - LPC at The University of Law.
