Founding Computer Vision Engineer at Mach9 Robotics

Ashton Fagg has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and autonomous vehicles.

Since 2022, Ashton has been working as a Founding Computer Vision Engineer at Mach9 Robotics.

Prior to that, Ashton worked at Aurora from 2020 to 2022. During their time at Aurora, Ashton held various roles including Staff Software Engineer (Perception Datasets), Senior Software Engineer, and Software Engineer (Perception Platform).

Before joining Aurora, Ashton worked at Uber Advanced Technologies Group from 2017 to 2020. At Uber, Ashton held roles as a Senior Autonomy Engineer (Perception) and Autonomy Engineer II (Computer Vision).

Ashton's career began at CSIRO in 2011, where they worked as a PhD Student from 2013 to 2017, an Honours Student from 2012 to 2013, and a Vacation Scholar from 2011 to 2012.

Lastly, Ashton was a Visiting Research Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University from 2016 to 2017.

Ashton Fagg pursued an extensive education in the field of computer systems and computer vision. From 2009 to 2012, Ashton attended the University of Southern Queensland, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree with a concentration in Computer Systems. Following this, Ashton pursued a higher level of education at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Vision. To complement their education, Ashton also obtained an Amateur Radio Operator certification from the Federal Communications Commission in June 2022.
