Breanna Large

Breanna Large has a diverse work experience spanning several years.

Breanna started their professional career in 2010 as a Lifeguard at Aquarena Aquatic Centre, where they worked until 2012.

From 2011 to 2013, they served as a Special Education Aide at Bulleen Heights School, supporting students with autism and complex behaviors in the classroom.

In 2013, they transitioned to become a Disability Support Worker at AutismPlus, providing respite and recreation support to children and young people with disabilities, and remained in this role until 2017.

During 2016, they completed a Social Work Placement at Doncare.

In 2017, they were selected as an Intern at Orygen, working on the Youth Educator Program.

From 2018 to 2020, Breanna worked as a Youth Convenor at Orygen, collaborating with researchers and clinicians to develop webinars.

In 2018, they also had a Social Work Student Placement at the Council of Single Mothers and Their Children.

From 2019 to 2020, they served as a Project Officer at Tandem Carers, engaging in youth, social work, research, policy, and advocacy work in the mental health sector.

Currently, they work as a Family Engagement Worker at MacKillop Family Services, providing support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with children, facilitating group work, and promoting the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children and their families.

Breanna Large obtained their Bachelor of Social Work (Hons) and Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) degrees from RMIT University, where they studied from 2013 to 2019. In 2016, they also completed the Fastrack Innovation Program at RMIT University, focusing on Social Work. Additionally, in 2015, they attended the International Summer School at Chonnam National University, with a focus on Public Policy.

Breanna has acquired several certifications. In September 2019, they obtained the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid certification from Mental Health First Aid Australia. In February 2021, they completed the Bringing Up Great Kids group facilitator certification from the Australian Childhood Foundation. In July 2021, they obtained another certification called Bringing Up Great Kids - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families from the same institution. In July 2022, they acquired the Safe and Together certification from the Safe & Together Institute. Most recently, in February 2023, they obtained the First 1000 Days Australia certification from First 1000 Days Australia.
