Dr. Jonathan Cabin is a physician, researcher and entrepreneur. After graduating the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Economics, Dr. Cabin worked on Wall Street before deciding his passion lay in medicine. He completed the Post-Baccalaureate, Pre-Medical (Post-Bacc) Program at Columbia University, in New York City, and went on to get his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Yale Medical School, in New Haven, CT. While subsequently completing his Head & Neck Surgery residency at the prestigious New York Eye & Ear Infirmary at Mount Sinai, in New York City, Dr. Cabin co-founded Docola – a digital health company – after he grew frustrated with repetitive and ineffective patient communication in his busy clinic.
After residency and while continuing to grow Docola, Dr. Cabin went on to obtain the single spot in an American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) fellowship at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.
Dr. Cabin currently practices at the CENTER for Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills. His practice combines reconstructive, functional and cosmetic surgery of the head and neck, along with non-invasive approaches at rejuvenation. As Director of the Migraine Institute, also in Beverly Hills, Dr. Cabin specializes in minimally invasive techniques and procedures to treat chronic, intractable migraine headaches. He serves on faculty at Cedars-Sinai hospital and within the same AAFPRS fellowship program that once trained him.
Dr. Cabin has published multiple textbook chapters and peer-reviewed articles on a wide range of topics, including rhinoplasty, rhytidectomy, ear reconstruction techniques and the use of botulinum toxin in the treatment of facial paralysis. He is passionate about helping those in need and has volunteers on medical missions abroad to perform much-needed pro bono surgery on adults and children.
Dr. Cabin joined MACRO in 2015 as an investigator and board member, in an effort to pursue his own research interests within his field of expertise, and has since served as investigator within several FDA Phase II and III clinical trials. Within this capacity, Dr. Cabin quickly recognized the value of MACRO’s unique and modular research infrastructure, beyond what was then is narrow application within dermatology, plastic surgery and aesthetics. He subsequently spearheaded the company’s growth from a specialty-specific, in-house clinical research group to a specialty-agnostic, investigator-agnostic Site Optimization Organization (SOO). He is passionate about MACRO’s mission to promote a clinical research culture that is radically inclusive, patient-centric and approachable no matter level of research experience.
