Gareth Pitt-Nash

Gareth Pitt-Nash has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Gareth currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at Made Tech. Prior to this, Gareth volunteered for health at Hywel Dda University Health Board.

Gareth's longest tenure was at ERS, where they served as a Senior Software Developer/Technical Lead from September 2015 to October 2021. During this time, they played a key role in developing internal systems and maintaining the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). Gareth also gained experience managing other developers and participating in the interview process.

Before ERS, Gareth worked as a Senior Developer at Hitec (Laboratories) Ltd from September 2013 to September 2015. In this role, they developed a web-based policy administration application from scratch and gained expertise in technologies such as MVC, Bootstrap, Angular, C#, JavaScript, and JQuery.

From May 2012 to September 2013, Gareth worked as a Systems Developer at UNIT4 UK. Their responsibilities included developing various software applications and services using languages such as C#, VB 6, VB.Net, ASP.Net, and JavaScript. Gareth followed the Scrum agile software development framework and worked with Oracle and MS SQL databases.

Gareth's previous experience includes roles as a Senior Group Web Developer and Group Web Developer at Creditsafe from May 2009 to May 2012, where they developed websites and utilized Oracle SQL and C#.Net. Gareth also has experience as a Software Engineer/Technologist at GE Aviation Systems Limited from July 2007 to September 2009, and as a Software Engineer at Smiths Aerospace from September 2005 to July 2007, working on software projects for military aircraft.

Gareth's career began at Gorseinon College, where they worked as an IT Technician/ITC Tutor from January 1998 to September 2005. Gareth was responsible for managing the computer network and later took on the role of ICT tutor, assisting and training students.

Before their career in IT, Gareth worked as a Customer Service Advisor and Sales Representative at Courts UK Ltd. from February 2000 to February 2005.

Gareth Pitt-Nash's education history begins in 1991 when they attended Birchgrove Comprehensive School. Gareth completed their GCSEs in Welsh, English, Information Technology, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Design Technology, and Mathematics in 1996. Afterward, they attended Gorseinon College from 1996 to 1999, where they earned their A-Level in Computer Science.

In 1999, Gareth enrolled in Swansea Institute of Higher Education and pursued a BEng(Hons) in Computer Systems Engineering (Electronics). Gareth completed their undergraduate degree in 2005.

Alongside their formal education, Gareth also obtained further qualifications in computer-related fields. In 2000 and 2001, they pursued City & Guilds: Computer Aided Design and Drafting and obtained an NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Retail Operations.

In terms of additional certifications, Gareth earned the MCD - Integration and API Associate certification from MuleSoft in November 2015. In June 2013, they also became a Certified ScrumMaster through ScrumAlliance.
