Esben Plenge

Esben Plenge has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Esben currently works at Maersk Tankers as the Data & AI Strategy Lead, where they are responsible for developing and implementing data and AI strategies. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Maersk Tankers.

Esben has also worked at Tradesnest as an Advisor for AI and machine learning, providing guidance on how to utilize machine learning and automation to enhance their platform's recommendations and identify new market opportunities for clients.

In terms of technical expertise, Esben has held roles as a Software Engineer at Apple, specializing in computational imaging, and as a Senior Data Scientist at Spektral, focusing on data analysis and modeling.

Earlier in their career, Esben worked as a Senior Computer Vision Scientist at Sportcaster, as an Image Processing Scientist at Københavns Universitet, and as an Image Processing Researcher at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Esben also worked as a PhD student in biomedical image analysis at Erasmus MC and as a Research Assistant at Aalborg University.

Esben Plenge completed a Bachelor/Diplomingeniør degree in Electronic Engineering at Copenhagen University College of Engineering from 2003 to 2006. Esben was an exchange student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2005, where they pursued studies in Electronic Engineering. In the same year, they were also an exchange student at Tongji University, where they worked on their final project for their Ba.Eng in Software Engineering. From 2006 to 2008, they obtained a Master of Engineering Science degree in Computer Vision and Graphics from Aalborg University. Finally, from 2009 to 2013, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical Imaging at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
