David Welbourne

David Welbourne's work experience includes a role as the Group Head of Risk & Governance at MAG (Airports Group) starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at AssurAcc as an Internal Control, SOX, and Risk Manager from 2021 to 2023. From 2016 to 2021, Welbourne was self-employed as an Internal Audit, Risk, and SOX Consultant. David also served as the Vice President of Audit and Operational Review at Teck Resources Limited from 2012 to 2015 and as the Director of Internal Audit & Compliance / C-SOX Project Director at Finning International Inc. from 2009 to 2012. Before that, they worked at Suncor Energy Inc. as a Senior Manager, Internal Audit / SOX Project Director from 2005 to 2009 and as a SOX Project Director at Greyhound Canada Transportation Corp from 2003 to 2005. Additionally, Welbourne held the positions of Director, Audit Services and Senior Internal Auditor at Greyhound Canada Transportation Corp. from 1996 to 2005. David began their career as an Accounting Manager at Banff Centre in 1996 and as an Internal Audit Manager at Widnes - UK from 1989 to 1995.

David Welbourne completed their MAAT degree in Finance & Accounting from The University of Manchester, where they studied from 1980 to 1983. David further pursued their education at the Institute of Internal Auditors - South Africa, from 1984 to 1985, where they obtained a Certified Internal Auditor degree with a focus on Administration, Finance, and Accounting.
