Christos Stavrou

Christos Stavrou has worked in a variety of positions since 1999. Christos started their career as a Second Lieutenant in the Cyprus National Guard in 1999. In 2007, they moved into education, taking a position as a Teacher of Science (Physics) at St. Martin's School. In 2011, they moved to Imperial College London to pursue a PhD in Plasma Physics, while also taking a position as a Teacher of Science (Physics) at Haydon School. In 2016, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Joint European Torus (JET) at Aalto University. In 2018, they took a role as a Divertor Physicist at Tokamak Energy Ltd. In 2019, they became a Visiting Academic at Imperial College London and Chief Executive Officer at Fusion Reactors. Most recently, in 2021, they were appointed Head of Numerical Physics at Magdrive.

Christos Stavrou's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Plasma Physics from Imperial College London (2011-2016), a Master's Degree in Fusion Energy from the University of York (2009-2010), a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from the University of Oxford (2006-2007), a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the University of Bristol (2003-2006), and a High School diploma from The English School, Nicosia (1992-1999).
